Antoinette S. Napier

Antoinette S. Napier, 72, of Ithaca, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 5, 2013.

She was born to the late Alphonse and Cecilia Sipior, August 7, 1941, in North Tonawanda, New York. Antoinette graduated from Mount Saint Mary Academy in 1959. She married James Napier Sr. in 1967 in Arlington, Virginia, and toured the country before settling down in Ithaca.

A dear mother and loving wife, Antoinette was a Senior Account Clerk Typist for the Ithaca Water Department for 27 years, and was passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and veterans through charitable donations. She also enjoyed contributing her time to those in need by working at local food banks.

Antoinette was an active member of the Immaculate Conception Church. She loved gardening and preparing meals that included vegetables grown fresh from her garden. She also loved spinning and weaving to create clothes from sheep's wool.

Antoinette is survived by husband James Napier Sr. of Ithaca; and by two children: James Napier Jr. of Niagara Falls; and Anthony Napier of Ithaca; her brother, Alphonse Sipior, Jr. and sisters, Connie Diven and Kathy Feldbauer.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

A viewing will be held at 9 am Monday at Immaculate Conception Church in Ithaca, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am. Interment will be in the Queen of Peace Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery. A reception will follow the interment at the First Assembly of God Church in Ithaca. All are welcome.
