August 25, 1951 — January 25, 2026

Ithaca

Antonio Salvatore Zannella, 74, of Ithaca, New York, passed away suddenly on January 25 of natural causes.

Antonio was born on August 25, 1951, in Bassano del Grappa, Italy, to Crescenzo and Raffaella Zannella, who preceded him in death. He later made his home in Ithaca, where he built a life rooted in family, tradition, and hard work. No matter where he was, his heart was always with the people he loved most.

He was the devoted husband of Diana Zannella and a proud father to his three sons, Daniel, David and his wife Kate, Michael and his wife Erin. Above all else, Antonio cherished his role as “Nonno” to his grandchildren—Asa, Antonio, Milo, Ainslie, Addie, and Kinsley—who brought him endless pride and joy.

Antonio was preceded in death by his parents, Crescenzo and Raffaella; his brother, Annibale; and his beloved in-laws, Benny and Helen Campagnolo. He is survived by his loving sisters, Anna Maria, Franca (Olivo), Clorinda, and Silvana; his brother-in-law, Mark Campagnolo; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins, with whom he shared close and meaningful bonds.

Antonio will be remembered for his steady presence, his deep love for his family, friends, and the quiet strength he carried throughout his life. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through the generations he helped shape.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday February 2 at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Antonio’s memory to the Cancer Resource Center, the American Heart Association, or Wounded Warriors.
