Denise A. Poole

Denise A. Poole, 94, former longtime resident of Ithaca, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2014 at her residence in Sarasota, FL. She was born in Belgium, daughter of the late Armand and Anna Goherlier Lecoq and was the widow of Theodore Poole who died in 1988. She was retired from Cornell University.

Denise is survived by her son, Claude Poole (Judy) of Tipp City, OH; her daughter, Jacqueline Blayda (Kenneth Arnold) of Burdett; grandchildren, Janelle Campbell (Isaiah), Corwin Poole (Shari), Claude Poole, Jr. (Jennifer) , Candra Leonard (Joe), Gisele Fields (Rick), Michael LaPoint, Michele Burchfield (Brian) and Nicole Blayda. She is also survived by her sister, Monique Lecoq and several great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Denise was predeceased by her son, Jeffrey Poole; daughter, Monique Fairchild; sister, Arnandine Winski and brother, Roget Lecoq.

Private services will be held at the Bangs Funeral Home with burial to follow at the Calvary Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
