Diane Carol Sperger

Diane Carol Sperger, age 87 of Ithaca, passed away Friday, May 23, 2025 at Oak Hill Manor Nursing Home with her children by her side.

Born November 6, 1937 in Ithaca, NY she is the daughter of the late Clifford and Carrie Seeley Dunbar and wife of the late Othmar “Bill” Sperger who passed away in 1999. Diane was a 1956 graduate of Ithaca High School and went on to work a variety of jobs while raising her family. She worked for the Ithaca Telephone Company, City of Ithaca as a meter maid, Pinkerton Security at the Ithaca Airport, Morse Chain Co., Crossing Guard for Ithaca City School District and retired as a Tompkins County Corrections Officer. She had many friends in her life and loved to play euchre and bingo.

In addition to her parents and husband, Diane is predeceased by her brother, Lee Dunbar of Stony Creek, Ontario. Diane is survived by sons, William (Susan) Sperger, James (Marchell) Sperger; and daughter, Lisa Sperger all of Ithaca, NY; and her grandchildren, Kayleigh, Katarina and Zackary Sperger. She is also survived by her sister, Linda Yourglivch of Mt. Joy, Pennsylvania.

At Diane’s request there are no formal services planned. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choosing. “That’s All Folks!”
