Doris E. Stein of Ithaca passed away May 31, 2025 at Hospicare, after 86 years of life. She had great faith, loved her family and friends and was wise, steadfast and strong-willed her entire life. Doris had a beautiful smile that was with her until her last day. We will forever miss her but are so thankful to have had her in our lives.
Doris is survived by her adoring husband of 62 years, Arthur of Ithaca. She is also survived by her loving children, daughter Roxanne (Ralph) Iacovelli of Ithaca, her two sons, Roy (Sharon) Symonds, of Washington, and Brian (Sheila) Stein of Ithaca. Grandchildren, Tracy Symonds of Texas, Miranda and Trevor Symonds of Washington, Jessica (Matthew) O’Donnell of Louisiana, Jennifer (Khalil Brice) Stein of Washington. Sisters Evelyn Howser of Nebraska and Linda (Fred) Riviera of California. She was devoted to two great-grandsons and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Carlea Frost, her son Ronald Symonds, and her brothers in law Carl Stein and Robert Howser.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations in Doris’s name may be directed to Hospicare of Ithaca.
