Ellen Rosalie Fowler

"Ithaca native and Kendal at Ithaca resident Ellen Rosalie Thompson Fowler passed away on September 4. Ellen graduated from Ithaca High School first in her class of 500-plus in 1966. She went on to earn an undergraduate degree in mathematics at Swarthmore College, a masters in education at the University of Wisconsin and a masters in library science at the University of Washington. Ellen taught mathematics at Boynton Junior High School and subsequently worked as a children's librarian. Ellen is survived by her devoted husband, Scott, and three of her four brothers, Bill, James and Mark Thompson. Her husband, her brothers and her many friends adored her for her kindness, graciousness, unflagging good spirits and conversational sparkle. Ellen lives on in spirit among all so blessed as once to have known her."
