Gerald Schrader

Gerald Schrader, born on June 14th, 1944, in Sayre, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on August 11th, 2026, in Ithaca, New York. His passing marks the loss of a cherished father, sibling, and friend whose warmth and quiet strength left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

Gerald’s life began in the gentle hills of Sayre, PA, where he was raised by his parents, Lee Gerald Schrader and Hattie Schrader, alongside his siblings. From an early age, Gerald displayed a thoughtful nature and a capacity for kindness—qualities that would define his relationships and his impact on those around him throughout the years.

Throughout his life, Gerald was deeply committed to his family. He was the loving father of Jesse Schrader, Gerald Schrader Jr., and Monica Schrader, imparting to them his values of integrity, perseverance, and compassion. He took great pride in their accomplishments and supported them unconditionally through every stage of their lives. As well as many grandchildren who loved him dearly.

Gerald’s family circle extended both near and far. He is survived by his devoted sister, Linda Marienthal Schrader, and his brother, Dale Schrader. Their sibling bond was grounded in mutual respect and understanding, unbroken even through life’s most challenging moments. He is predeceased by his sister, Adelia Schrader, as well as by his beloved parents, whose memory remained close to Gerald’s heart throughout his life.

Though Gerald’s time on earth has come to a close, his spirit endures in the lives of his children, siblings, and all those who were privileged to know him. Remembered for his calm wisdom and unwavering commitment to family, Gerald leaves behind a lasting legacy of love, reliability, and gentle guidance.

Friends and loved ones are encouraged to remember Gerald not only for the journey he walked, but for the strength, kindness, and love for the outdoors he brought into the world. He loved being outdoors, whether hunting, fishing, camping, wood working or firing up the barbecue. Bringing his family together and sharing his outdoorsy knowledge.

He will be remembered by his family and many friends.
