Kevin D. Dorn

Kevin D. Dorn, age 65, of Brooktondale, NY, passed away on January 23rd, 2026.

Born on December 15th in Ithaca, NY, Kevin was the son of Hubert F. Dorn and Patricia Brecht. Kevin was a self-made, hardworking man who ran his own business and made sure his family always had what they needed. He loved deeply, especially his two grandsons, who brought him immense joy. Whether he was tinkering with cars in the shop or building something from one of his many ideas, he poured his heart into everything he did, often creating something truly special.

Kevin left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His sense of humor was contagious, and he had a natural gift for making people laugh and feel at ease. A true jack of all trades, he was always willing to lend a hand, even when his own were full. One of his many talents took place in the kitchen where he enjoyed the challenge of trying new recipes and cooking a variety of delicious meals for his family. Kevin is deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by his family and friends.

Kevin is survived by his mother, Patricia Brecht; four sons, Joshua Dorn (Julie Weaver), Matthew Dorn (Laura Gebhart), Tyler Dorn (Courtney), and Zachary Dorn (Rakayla); two grandsons; siblings, Shirley Weaver, Terry Rosa (Victor), and Hubert Dorn Jr., along with many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Hubert F. Dorn.

A Celebration of Life will be held on February 21st, 2026 at the Danby Fire Station at 12:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA of Tompkins County in Kevin’s memory, as he was a true animal whisperer and loved all cats and dogs.
