Levi G. "Lee" Wells

Levi G. (Lee) Wells, 74, of Ithaca, NY peacefully passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at home with his family by his side. Lee was born December 4, 1942 in Morley, NY, son of Charles and Irene (LaValley) Wells. He graduated from Potsdam Central School in 1962.

He attended Central City Barber School in Syracuse, NY while working as a respiratory therapist. In 1965 he came to Ithaca to work with Joe Gargiulo at Community Corners Barbershop while also serving as a member of the Cayuga Heights Volunteer Fire Department. He worked for Cooke Cadillac Oldsmobile in the 70s and 80s. He was an active volunteer and board member with Loaves & Fishes for several years. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, classic cars and spending time with his grandchildren. For the past 10 years he wintered in Lakeland, FL.

He is survived by his wife Christine Colburn Wells. They would have celebrated 50 years of marriage on September 9th. He is also survived by his children, Roger (Jen) Wells of Cincinnati, OH, Robin (Brian) Stone of Ithaca, NY, Rick (Jennifer) Wells of Brunswick, ME and grandchildren, Katie and Andrew Stone and Grayson and Grant Wells. He is predeceased by his siblings Yvonne, Donna and Neil.

Friends may call at Bangs Funeral Home on Thursday, June 22, 2017 from 4 to 6 pm. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception Church on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 10 am with interment to follow at the Calvary Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Loaves & Fishes or Hospicare, Ithaca, NY.
