Malinda Louise Pride

Malinda Louise Vaughan Pride died suddenly on November 28, 2013, while visiting her family in Ithaca, NY. Malinda was born July 22, 1928, in Chesterfield County, Virginia. She has resided in Gilhaven Manor, 500 Farmer Street, Petersburg, Virginia for the past 31 years.

She was the daughter of Malinda Goode Vaughan and Romaine Vaughan. Her husband, William Pride, sisters, Mildred Vaughan, Sadie Vaughan Jennings and Betty Vaughan Debnam, brothers Roosevelt, Herbert and Horace Vaughan, and nephew Willie Vaughan preceded her in death.

She is survived by her nieces, Patricia (Roland), Teresa, and Gail (James) Johnson and nephews Raymond Vaughan; Lance (Peter) Johnson and her niece in law, Carmencita Stewart.

She loved to ride, having never learned to drive and to have a good drink every now and then. She will be missed.

Arrangements are by Bangs Funeral Home, Ithaca, NY. A memorial service will be planned at a later time as determined by the family.
