Margaret Bonnie Sullivan

Margaret "Bonnie" Sullivan, (72), passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on August 7, 2016 at the Hospicare Residence. She was born in Rochester, NY, daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Buonomo and was the widow of Robert Sullivan who died in 2007.

Bonnie is survived by her children, Rick (Tammy) Lopez, Catherine Lopez, Michelle Lopez and Jim Crandall; her grandchildren, Nikolas, Michael, Travis, Chad, Dimitri, Seth, Emily and Junior and her four great grandchildren. She is also survived by her step children, Dale and Kimberly Sullivan; her siblings, Paul, Dawn, Marie, Cliff, Eugene and Patricia; her sister-in-law, Barbara; several nieces and nephews and her dear friend, Betty Buck.

Bonnie was a fun loving, warmhearted person who loved the people around her and the community she lived in. She worked in retail at Weston's and then K-Mart for over 40 years, where she made friends with everyone she came into contact with. She was a long time member of the Moose Club, the VFW and The Eagles Club where she is a past President of the Ladies Auxiliary. She loved playing cards with her friends and coordinated the Eagles Euchre League. She was an avid bowler and spent weekends traveling with her Golden Girls to all of the local Casino's. Bonnie also donated much of her time to various fundraisers held at the Eagles Club, including an annual fundraiser for Hospicare in memory of her late husband.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 from 4:00 - 6:00pm and the funeral will be on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at 11:00am. Both will be held at Bangs Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bonnie's memory may be made to Hospicare, 172 E. King Rd., Ithaca, NY 14850.
