Melissa L. Manning

Melissa L. Manning, 45, of Ithaca, New York passed away unexpectedly at Cayuga Medical Center on December 3, 2025. 

She was born on April 1, 1980 the daughter of the late Gregory Poole and Brenda Campbell Poole. She graduated from Candor Central School in 1999 and worked for over 17 years at Cornell University as an event planner in the ILR school and at the conference center. She enjoyed shopping online, gardening, and spending time with family. 

She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Michael Manning; daughter, Alivia (Trent Rutan) Flood; granddaughter, Harper Rutan; mother, Brenda Poole; sister, Danielle Poole; grandfather, Arthur Poole; stepchildren, Sean (Amber Ramos) Manning, Connor (Kennize) Manning and Mackenzie (Nick) Burghardt; step grandson, Beau Burghardt; and a fur baby, her beloved English Bulldog Gemma Jean; father in law and mother in law, James and Barbara Manning. 

Calling hours will be held Sunday, December 7, from 2 to 4 PM at Bangs Funeral Home, with a memorial service to follow at 4 PM.
