Patricia M. Longrod

Patricia M Longrod went to be with our Lord January 28, 2026. She was born on November 13, 1936, to Helen & Stanley Romanowski. Patricia attended to Immaculate Conception Catholic School and Ithaca high School. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. She married Scott Longrod on September 1, 1962. Patricia held many jobs over the years including working at the Grand Union Grocery Store, Ithaca Gun Company and Grolier Book Company in Danbury, Connecticut. She and her husband have been residents in the Lansing Community for over 40+ years.

Patricia loved her grandchildren & great grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to check in on them even though they lived far away. She loved to shop but not much for herself but more so her grandchildren and great grandchildren, always sending them care packages full of treasures she found for them. When she worked for the book company in Danbury, she especially loved sending them books, which increased and promoted each of their love of reading. She loved all animals and had numerous animals of her own over the year. She had a passion for taking care of feral cats & all wildlife at her house, especially in the cold weather. She loved gardening & taking care of her plants inside and out.

Patricia had a heart of gold, never meeting a stranger without making them an immediate friend, always taking the time to get to know them, giving generously to others whenever she saw a need or just because she liked to see others smile. Patricia made friends easily and loved to socialize with anyone she met.

She is survived by her loving husband, Scott Longrod of Lansing, NY, her daughter & son-in-law Darlene & Ruben of Olivas of Ruidoso, New Mexico, her brother, Robert R Romanowski of Ithaca, NY, her granddaughter Jennifer Baldridge & husband, Craig Baldridge of Portales, New Mexico, her grandson Matthew Hart & wife Brooke Hart of Portales, NM, her great grandchildren, Aliyah Miranda, Harlie Baldridge, Marley Hart, & Renna Hart, all of Portales, NM, her niece Marlene Rifenburgh & husband John Rifenburgh of Oneonta,NY and niece Linda Thayer & husband Doug Thayer of Trumansburg, NY and numerous cousins from the Zifchock, Boronkay and Bailey families. She is preceded in death by her mother, Helen E Romanowski & father, Stanley R Romanowski and her sister-in-law, Eleanor Romanowski.

There will be a memorial for her to be scheduled in the future. In lieu of flowers, please direct donations to the SPCA of Tompkins County, 1640 Hanshaw Rd, Ithaca, NY 14850/ for their spay and neuter program and/or for their Trap Neuter Release (T/N/R) program for feral cats in Patricia M Longrod’s name.
