85 of Ithaca NY

Went home to be with the Lord on December 28, 2025. Philip was born in Montour Falls, NY on

September 30, 1940. Philip is survived by his wife of Fifty-Nine years Kathryn Bowen Rumsey

his two daughters Starleen Landon and Dyan (Kevin) Manley. His brother Roger C. (Donna)

Rumsey and his sister-in-Law Betty Rumsey. Eight Grandchildren and four Great-Grandchildren.

Several cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his son Fred L. Rumsey, his parents Harrison and Mildred Quinn

Rumsey, his brother David H. Rumsey and his sisters Sandra Kastenhuber and Linda Rumsey.

Philip had more than 60 years with the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 112. He was a

lifetime member of the Moose Lodge, VFW Auxiliary, The Groton Rod and Gun Club, War Dad’s

and The Newfield Masonic Lodge #784 where he was a Past Master and lifetime member.

Phil’s family and friends were his most important assets. Everyone was a friend and he was

always willing to go the extra mile whenever he could. There was much rejoicing in Heaven

when he arrived and was reunited with all those who went before him!

Services will be private at Phil’s request. Feel free to pop the top of a cold PBR for a toast in

Phil’s memory! Donations can be made in memory of Philip to Hospicare or any charity of

your choice.
