Richard J. Mcneil

Richard Jerome McNeil born December 22, 1932, passed away on September 25, 2018, at Cayuga Medical Center following a stroke the prior evening.

He was born in Marquette, MI, the son of Arden McNeil and Marguerite Hodgins McNeil.

He was retired from Cornell University, Natural Resources Department following a dedicated and highly honored teaching career.

His health had declined over the past fifteen years following a series of health issues, including Alzheimer’s. He most recently resided with his son, Phil and his daughter, Susan, both of whom helped care for him as his health declined.

He had a long love of travel, and traveled on a cruise to the Bahamas with Phil and Susan just two week before his death.

He was predeceased by his wife Mary Ann, his parents, and his older brother, Robert McNeil.

He is survived by his daughter, Susan McNeil; his son, Phil McNeil, his younger brothers Jon (Rosemarie), Tom (Liz) , and Tim (Sharon) McNeil, his granddaughters Alex and Sean McNeil, his grandson Max McNeil, and other family and friends.

There are no plans for services at this time. He will be buried at East Lawn Cemetery, Ithaca, New York.
