Rodney Edward Townley, a devoted Christian, loyal patriot, and cherished member of the community, passed away on November 11, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Born on May 8, 1947, in Ithaca, NY, Rod faced numerous health challenges over the years, including ulcerative colitis and skin cancer treatments, which he bravely endured with unwavering strength and grace.

Rod’s life was marked by his steadfast patriotism and deep faith. He proudly displayed the American flag around the clock, standing as a visible symbol of his love and allegiance to his country. His dedication to these principles inspired all who knew him and left an enduring impression on his family and friends.

A man of diverse interests, Rod had a particular passion for restoring classic cars, especially Corvettes and Camaros—an endeavor that brought him joy and allowed him to express his meticulous craftsmanship. Equally important to him was his affection for animals, especially his beloved Westie, Ashley BelAir, who was a constant companion and a source of comfort throughout his life.

Rod is survived by his loving son, Neil “Randy” Townley, and grandchildren Gunner and Liberty, who reside in San Angelo, Texas. He also leaves behind his siblings Larry Jr., Sharon, and Donald, along with several nieces and nephews who remember him fondly. Rod was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Peg Townley, and his brother, Dale Allen.

A graveside service to honor Rodney Edward Townley will be held on what would be his 79th birthday, May 8, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Frear Memorial Park, located on Hayts Road in Ithaca, NY.

Rod’s legacy is one of faith, patriotism, and family devotion. While he is deeply missed by those who knew and loved him, his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift all who were fortunate enough to share in his life. Rest in peace, dear brother; your memory will forever hold a place of honor in our hearts.
