Ruth A. Dutton

Ruth A. Dutton, 82, of Newfield, New York, died August 21, 2020, on the birthday of her late husband, Richard Dutton, with her family by her side.

Upon her retirement from Cornell University, she spent her time relaxing, doing crossword puzzles, and learning all about social media from her children and grandchildren. She then became a fulltime caregiver to her husband. She has missed him very much for the past two years.

Ruth is survived by her children, Joyce Williams, Geri (Andy) Egan, Nicholas Cito III, Ruth Cito (Lisa Bloom) and Sheri Meminger Broadus (Elliot), grandchildren Lacy, Chelsea, Jackie, Jamie, Jenna and Sammy, and greatgrandchildren Elijah, Janelle, Janaiyah and Joharra.  She is also survived by Richard’s children, Richard (Melody) Dutton, Jr., Dominick (Kris) Dutton, and his grandchildren Mandy and Megan, Sean and Emma, and greatgrandchildren Brooke, Briella, Cain and Octavius.

Ruth was born in Jersey City, New Jersey. In addition to her husband, Ruth was predeceased by her parents William and Roxanna Lees, and her sister, Lois Malec. Her sister, Maryann (Joseph) Cirillo, of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, survives her.
