Sandra "Sandy" K. Waterman

Sandra "Sandy" K Waterman, 77 of Ithaca, passed away January 1, 2026 surrounded by loved ones. Born May 1, 1948, she was the daughter of late Quentin and Martha Marcy. 

Sandy will be remembered for her love of animals, and her enjoyment of sunshine and warm weather. Sandy was known for having a heart as big as heaven, and always looking for the best in everyone despite having a life full of mental illness and multiple health challenges. She was with her life partner, Fred Kelly, for over 30 years until he passed away in 2019. Sandy started her career as a CNA in New Mexico, and she worked until her retirement as a housekeeper at Hilton Inn, in Ithaca. 

Sandy is survived by her daughter, Cyndi Marie Waterman; son, Mark Cyrus (Nicole) Waterman; and grandchildren, Mark and Hailey; brothers: Dale Marcy and Larry Marcy. She is in heaven next to our Lord and reunited with her life partner. She will be truly missed. 

Calling hours will be held on Friday January 9, 2026 from 3-5 PM at Bangs Funeral Home.
