Shelley Garvey

Shelley Z. Garvey passed away peacefully on October 12, 2026. Born in Brooklyn, New York, on March 27, 1950, to Florence and Jonas Zuckerman, Shelley spent much of her adult life in Ithaca, New York. She earned her Master’s in Library Science from SUNY Albany and worked for many years at Tompkins County Public Library, where she once served as head of the Youth Services Department. Shelley loved bread, butter, and chocolate, and was proud to have never needed to see a cardiologist. She is survived by her daughter, Maeve, and other family members across the country.
