Vincent Mazzarella

Vincent Anthony Mazzarella, 78, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Cathleen Mazzarella, with whom he shared 43 years of marriage.

Vince was born on September 12, 1947, in Brooklyn, New York and raised in the Arthur Ave area of the Bronx. After graduating high school he served in the Navy, where he received honorable discharge.

Vince and Cate fell in love in New York City, married in Boston and raised their family in Ithaca. He worked as a financial advisor for 36 years, deeply caring about people’s finances and futures.

Vince was a charismatic and charming man, who made friends wherever he went. As an avid pool player, he reached high ranks within local groups NAPA and APA. Vince and Cate relished in listening to music together. They attended concerts and live music at local venues every opportunity they had, and could always be found together on the dance floor during shows.

Vince had a passion for movies, reading, card games, and recently got back into playing pinochle and chess, joining local groups and making many new friends along the way.

In recent years, Vince has enjoyed more time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy.

Vince is survived by his loving wife, Cathleen Mazzarella; his daughter, Mea Vizenor (Cameron); his son, Michael Mazzarella (Shelby); and grandchildren, Chloe, India, Mae, and Luca.

He was predeceased by his brother Tony, his sister Donna, and his loving mother Mildred.

Family and friends are invited to honor Vince’s remarkable life, between the hours of 4 and 6 pm on Tuesday, June 30, at Bangs Funeral Home in Ithaca, New York.

Vince will be remembered for his profound love for his family, his sense of humor, his passion in all things, and the many lives he touched along the way.
