Ithaca: Violet Davis, 89, died on July 29th at the Cayuga Ridge Nursing Home in Ithaca, New York. She was born in New York City on February 16, 1923. When she retired from Amphenol (Bendix Corporation) after 25 years of service, she became an avid hiker completing the Finger Lakes Trail and Long Path North. She was predeceased by her husband, Bert, of 54 years, and three siblings. She is survived by her son, Francis Davis (Mena) of Ithaca, NY, and her daughter, Silvia Davis of Aspen, CO; her grandsons, Duane, Shawn, Brian, Ramon and their wives, nine great grandchildren; her sister, Louise Bowman of Richmond, Virginia; sister Lillian Rhoades of Swanzey, New Hampshire, and brother, Ernie Hanselman of South Kortright, New York.

A memorial service will be held at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 302 St. Catherines Circle, Ithaca, New York, on Thursday, August 2, at 11 am.Bangs Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
