Daniel Flynn Bolton

Daniel Flynn Bolton, age 39 of Ithaca, NY died unexpectedly in his sleep on Thursday, July 21st, 2022. He was the fourth son born to John and Nancy Bolton on September 8th, 1982. He was predeceased by his father John G. Bolton Jr. and is survived by his four brothers, Sean, James, Conor and Finley, his mother Nancy, and son Jackson and daughter Cara. Though Daniel had chronic health conditions and was hospitalized last fall, his untimely death, though peaceful, is a horrible shock to his loved ones. Daniel was so full of life; it seems impossible that he’s gone. To say he was a family man doesn’t describe the depth of his love for his family. Though he loved his work as a chef, even delighting in the hectic, often long hours, his family was his highest priority and having time with Jackson and Cara was the highlight of his life.
He gave himself completely to everything he did, putting his special blend of humor, empathy, kindness, and enthusiastic optimism into each endeavor. Always ready for a challenge, he found a way to make even the most mundane tasks fun and enjoyable. He’s the person you not only wanted to confide in, but the one you wanted with you whatever the situation was. We who loved him wish he had taken as good care of himself as he did of others. He had so many plans for his future, and was in a busy, happy place in his life. We will miss him every day and when the pain of that lessens, we will take comfort in remembering all the ways he touched and improved our earthly journeys. He would want us to embrace life as he did, with hope, joy and an open mind and heart. Rest well, dear Daniel. We love you forever.
