Donald Clifford Corwin

Donald C. Corwin, 81, died one day before his 82nd birthday on Saturday June 18, 2022 at his home in Lansing, NY.

Don, the tall good-looking boy from Lansing, was born on June 19, 1940 in Auburn, NY. He is the son of Lillian (Corwin) Freytag and Clifford Corwin.

He attended King Ferry High School in King Ferry, NY. He then went on to serve as a military policeman in the United States Army. He served from 1961-1963 where he was honorably discharged. He was an extremely proud veteran and you often saw him sporting his black U.S Army Veteran hat. Don had a variety of jobs from post man to bartender, but his most recent job was at Eastern A.I Cooperative (now known as Genex) where he retired from in 2002.

 Don loved his family and enjoyed watching his grandson's sporting events, he especially loved baseball and the NY Yankee’s (only when they were having a good season). He also enjoyed riding around in his beloved Jeep and visiting his friends near and far. When he wasn’t at a sporting event or driving around, he loved spending time at the casino.

He was a dedicated father, grandfather, brother, uncle to several nieces and nephews, companion and friend to many. Don was preceded in death by both of his parents Lillian and Clifford and his wife of 45 years, Carolyn (Dean) Corwin. Don is survived by his companion, Linda Parker, sister Barbara (Richard) Barron, three children, William “Billy” Corwin, Donald (Toni) Corwin Jr., Kim Owens and grandchildren Miranda (Jemal Jr.) “Owens” Cooper, Kobee Corwin-Watts, Matthew Strope and Michael Albrecht and especially missed by his great grandson, his little buddy, Michael Albrecht Jr. 

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday June 22, 2022 at 11:00 am at Lansingville Cemetery in Lansing, NY for family and friends. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Don’s honor to the American Cancer Society and the local VFW.
