Douglas Hazen

Doug was born May 12, 1944 and passed away on February 22, 2024 at the age of 79.

He was predeceased by his parents, Catherine Sepos and Russell Hazen, and his Sister and Brother-In-Law Carole Hazen and John ‘Jack’ Carpenter.

He is survived by his niece Cathy Pace residing in Ithaca, NY and cousins, both in New York and in Illinois. He is also survived by two very special families – Dan and Nancy Anderson and their children residing in Gurnee, IL and Dave and Sharon Franklin, residing in Bellingham, WA. Doug and Dave have been great friends since Ithaca High School.

He graduated from California School of Professional Psychology with a PhD in 1980, San Diego State University with a M.S degree in 1976, Cortland State with a M.S. degree in 1974, Ithaca College with a B.S. degree in 1967, and graduated from Ithaca High, in Ithaca, NY - Class of 1962.

Doug’s occupations were all directed around Mental Health. Executive Director of Psychological Services for The Holman Group in California, Director of Mental Health with the US Army, Germany 1989-1992 and a Commissioned Navy Officer 1980-1989. While in Gurnee he was a Clinical Psychologist for the Navy until his retirement.

He will be laid to rest with his parents at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Ithaca, NY.
