Filomena H. (Grassi) Hubble

Filomena H. Hubble, age 86 of Ithaca, NY passed away Monday, January 3, 2022 at Cayuga Medical Center.

Born March 21, 1935 in Endicott, NY she was the daughter of the late Frank and Angelina Barbato Grassi and wife of the late Stephen I. Hubble who passed away October 26, 2015. Fil was a very caring nurse who was employed for over 40 years with Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca. She was very musical, playing the guitar and piano, and made sure she brought her children up to appreciate and learn music as well. She was a tap dancer and made sure her children learned to dance as well. She loved life and people and she and her late husband, Steve, were well known and loved in the Ithaca community. She was a longtime communicant of Immaculate Conception Church.

Fil is survived by her children, Maria (Vincent) Hubble Colleyacme, Angela (Mario) Hubble Personius, Stephen (Lorna) Hubble Jr. and Regina Hubble; grandchildren, Mark (Mona Abdi) Colleyacme, Joshua Hubble and Danielle (Johnathan Ramos) Hubble; great grandchildren, Lily, Emma, Stevie and Julian; sisters, Kathie Grassi and Joanne (Nick) Florini; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.  In addition to her parents and husband, Fil was predeceased by her brothers, Angelo, Francis and Dennis Grassi.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Monday, January 10, 2022 at Immaculate Conception Church with Fr. Chumo as celebrant. Friends are invited to call from 9-10 am prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are asked to be directed to any charity that aids the homeless and hungry. Bangs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
