Shelby Lee (Snyder) Rose passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023 with her children by her side, at Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca, after a brief illness. Shelby was born on December 27, 1942 in Sherwood, NY to Ralph Henry Snyder and Phoebe Lois Minturn. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Donald Eugene Snyder. She is survived by her children, Darlene (Ed) Marshall, Michael (Nicole) Rose, and David (Corinne) Rose. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Chelsea Marshall, Ryan (Courtney) Marshall, Ayden Rose, Bryce Rose, and Zachary Rose and 2 great grandchildren, Hayden and Nolan. Shelby is also survived by her niece, Barbee Snyder and nephew, Donald Snyder. Shelby enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Shelby was a graduate of King Ferry Central School and CCBI in Syracuse prior to starting a long career at NYSEG. It spanned over 35 years starting at Milliken Station and retiring from the Ithaca Area Payroll Department. She made many friends at NYSEG that she maintained after retirement. She also worked for the Town of Lansing as a School Tax Collector and later in the Town Clerk’s Office assisting with property tax collections. Shelby also worked for the Dollar Tree in Ithaca. She enjoyed her season membership to the Merry Go Round Playhouse in Auburn and her trips to Tioga Downs. Per Shelby’s wishes, there will not be any funeral services. If you would like to make a donation in Shelby’s memory please donate to the North Lansing Fireman’s Auxiliary where Shelby was very active.
